"We were found to both have musical talent; your mother played the violin and I the piano. We started giving concerts when we were: seven (Elsie) and ten years of age. In 1927 we moved to N. Y. C., and in 1928 - went back to Canada, giving concerts in several cities. When your mother was nine yrs. old, she was asked to play for "Old First Night" in the Amphitheatre at Chautauqua, N. Y. where they had a Summer Music Program of Symphony + Opera Series. My father, mother, sister (Elsie) and I went to Scotland to visit relatives in 1921. Then in 1936, we went again to visit our relatives in Scotland and England." 21 Jan 1985
