1. ERNST WILHELM <1> SCHILLING was born about 1828 (+-2yr) and died 26 Mar 1880 in Tilsit, Eastern Prussia, now Sovetsk on the Niemen, RSFSR, Soviet Union. He married Henriette Westphal around 1854(+-2yr) in or near Tilsit [now Sovetsk, Kalingrad, Russian Federation].  She was born in East Prussia (probably Tilsit) about 1833 (+-2yr) and died 10 Nov 1906 in Koenigsberg, Eastern Prussia, which became Kalingrad/ RSFSR, Soviet Union.
(See also an except from The Open Door, where Falko Wilhelm Schilling discusses his grandparents.)    [According to family oral history, Henriette may have been spelled differently and may have been her middle name. It is thought that her first name could have been Helene.]

IV. Anna Charlotte Helene <2> was born on 29 Jun 1859 and married Stabsarzt Muthreich, a captain in the Medical Corps of the Prussian Army, who died not long afterward. She remained with her mother until her death. Children:

i. Ernst Muthreich, as a field artillery lieutenant, became a suicide.

ii. Ilse Muthreich remained unmarried and stayed with her mother and grandmother until her death.

3. MAX <2> SCHILLING(Ernst Wilhelm <1>) married a Polish girl. He owned a soft coal mine in Saxony which flooded shortly before his death in 1912. Children:

i. Erika Haus, married and lived in Lubben.

4. ERNST LOUIS <2> SCHILLING (Ernst Wilhelm <1>) was born on 23 Aug 1855 in Tilsit, Eastern Prussia, died on 11 Jun 1921 in Bad Ems, Nassau, Germany and was buried at Unter rather Friedhof, Dusseldorf, Germany. He married the Baroness Anna Ulrike von Gloeden on 28 Feb 1882 (Other sources say the wedding was on 1 Mar 1882.) Anna was born on 6 Jun 1852 at Griebow (family estate), Griefswald, Pomerania, now in East Germany, died 15 Jul 1935 in Manchester, NH., U.S.A. and was buried in Pine Grove Cemetery. Anna was the daughter of Baron Carl Gustav von Gloeden and Louise Ulrike Carolina Wallenias.

He married Helen Alma Miner on 31 Oct 1912 in Vermont. She was born 9 Mar 1882 in Hinesburg, Vt., the daughter of James Miner and Rosamond Aurilia Castle (Cole). Helen had a previous marriage to Dr. Henry Lawrence Wilder b. 21 Jan (1870 or 1872) in Swanton, Vermont and had a child from this marriage:  Gladys Knowles Wilder b. 9 Sep 1902.
