Work on the Annual CROP Walk

Since the year 2001, the people of Fair Haven area have hosted an autumn CROP Walk. One of thousands of CROP walks across America, our walk involved 28 groups in 2006, 178 walkers and helpers, and raised over $15,000! More than $3,500 will serve hungry people in the Fair Haven area.
Since 2001 we have raised $83,000.
What Happens in a CROP Walk?
You walk and seek sponsors who contribute.
We want everyone to be able to participate so some friends in wheelchairs or who can go just a little way, just walk in the park,
others walk 3 or 5 miles to identify with many people who MUST walk for water, food, survival.

Recruiters in 2004!
Walkers then receive a sponsor envelope from the recruiters and go get donations to sponsor their walk. One first time walker raised nearly $1,000 from friends, collleagues, and family! If you raise $50 or more you will receive a free tee-shirt provided by our local sponsors. If you raise $100 or more you also earn a CROP hat! If you'd lke to be a sponsor or a recruiter or a walker for 200, give Carol (468-5309) a call!
The Walk! at 1:30 on Sunday, September 28, 2008, all of us walkers will register in the Park in Fair Haven, and we will take off on our walk at 2:00! We have three routes so anyone can participate.. A map will be available at the walk and there will be signs at every corner.
A. All of us will walk or wheel through the park. Some of us will go only as far as our health or mobility will allow us.
B. Many folks will continue up Rt. 22A, across Fourth St, back down North Main Street and return to the park.
C. The more robust walkers will go through the park, up Rt. 22A, and journey up to the airport on Airport Road. Turing around at the end of the runway they will come back, continue across Fourth Street and come down North Main Street to the Park.
And at the end of the walk we enjoy ice cream, other refreshments, music, and fellowship!
