OMYA

Most of the railroad traffic handled in Rutland is generated by OMYA, judging by the number of tank cars and covered hoppers to be seen bearing that company's logo.  Limestone slurry manufactured in their Florence VT plant goes out to all points of the compass.  None of the loads actually originate or terminate in Rutland, but the yard is full of cars being sorted into locals heading for Florence, or loads heading out.
