Vermont Leaf is a publication of the ............... Federated Garden Club of Vermont

This is a PROTOTYPE SITE that was created in 2003.

Club Membership Provides:

  • Opportunities to meet and make friends with people with similar interests.
  • Educational programs: horticulture, landscape design, floral design,
    the environment, conservation, butterflies, wildlife habitat, and birds
    to mention a few.
  • Workshops teaching floral design and horticulture practice.
  • Projects with other community organizations to improve your community.
  • Scholarships to send young people to college and to camps and to provide
    financial support to community institutions.

FGCV:

  • Publishes the State newsletter, The Vermont Leaf, of Club news and
    timely topics twice a year for every member.
  • Sponsors sources of monetary awards and recognition certificates to
    deserving members, club projects and organizations and a scholarship
    to a college student.
  • Invites members to Spring, Fall and Annual Meeting to socialize, share
    ideas and to hear informative programs.
  • Hosts the New England Region Annual Meeting and the New England Region
    Flower Show School Symposium every six years.
  • Supports the VT Community Botanical Gardens, the Vermont Plantsman
    Show, the Stratton Mountain Flower and Garden Show and Habitat for Humanity.
  • Provides support and resources to all Federated Garden Clubs.
  • Supports Garden Therapy projects for the elderly, handicapped and the disabled.
  • Sponsors workshops – Show Times – three times a year to
    teach the fundamentals of Floral Design to Federation members.

Many state clubs have membership in the National Council of State Garden Clubs, Inc.
