Fields are a major habitat at Springweather. Much of Springweather was once farm land and is growing back to forest. Through the process of succession, sun tolerant shrubs and trees are growing and will eventually give way to shade tolerant ash, maple, and beech. Meadow Larks and Field Sparrows were once common. Now Brown Thrashers and Rufous-sided Towhees inhabit these fields.
