Putney Co-op Membership Information

To become a member of the Co-op, you must purchase shares of Co-op stock. This one-time purchase gives you a membership. Any cashier can sign you up. It's quick and easy.
 
If you leave the area or decide you no longer want to be a member, you can redeem your shares for their original cash value. To ensure the financial stability of the Co-op, redemption of shares may be delayed at the discretion of the Board of Directors.
 

Who Can Join the Co-op?

Co-op membership is open to any individual; institutions and organizations are not eligible for membership. Two or more adults in a household must both be members to receive membership benefits. Although people of any age can be members, you must be at least 18 years of age to vote at membership meetings.

We welcome your comments and suggestions about our customer service, product lines, current practices, anf future planning. If you have a thought or comment you'd like to share, jot it down and drop it in the suggestion box, talk to a staff member, e-mail the co-op,or become a mamber and attend board meetings.
 

Are There Any Requirements?

Members of the Putney Food Co-op do not have to fulfill work obligations. Full membership rights are granted with the purchase of Co-op shares.
 

Membership Benefits

You don't have to be a member of the Co-op to shop at the Co-op, but members receive these additional benefits:
* 10% off on the 10th of each month.
* Special month-long sale prices on selected merchandise.
* Voting privileges at membership meetings.
* 10% discount on pre-orders of bulk or full case items.
* Support of a socially responsible local business where your shopping dollars benefit the community.
* 2% discount on purchases at the Brattleboro Food Co-op and reciprocal benefits at most food co-ops nationwide.
 

Monthly Board Meetings

The Putney Co-op Board of Directors currently meets at 7 pm on the second Thursday of each month at Putney Central School. All Co-op members are invited to attend.
 
The annual membership meeting takes place each fall. A notice of the date, time, and place is posted at the front of the store.
