Because of its neutrality and its ability to bring diverse interests together, VCRD has a unique public role and a responsibility to raise questions that cross organizational lines and have broad historical import for the future of the state.  VCRD is a dynamic organization that is moving forward to help rural Vermonters and their communities confront the challenges of the 21st century.
