There is a plethora of information about DADGAD tuning these days. Once just an obscure tuning, DADGAD is much in vogue. Michael Horowitz of DjangoBooks.com has come up with several online guitar lessons and he has one about playing in DADGAD Tuning. The lesson, which you download as a zip file of nearly 2 megabytes, contains an Adobe Acrobat file of information and exercises and 11 mp3 clips of the exercises in the text. The lesson costs $10.
I understand the need for musicians to make a living from their knowledge and this type of lesson reaches a lot of people via the web. Is it worth the $10?? Perhaps if you have no other access to DADGAD materials and want to get a basic familiarization and hear what DADGAD chording sounds like. Michael does play a very nice version of the jig Banish Misfortune on this lesson and you can add that tune to your budding repertoire.
