DON'T FENCE ME IN!
Hi everyone - Gizmo here

Mom and Dad are scardie cats. They worry when I walk with guests
( mud, porcupines etc), they worry when I go to the road ( I stand
in front of oncoming cars because I know they're coming to see me)
and they worry that I'll disappear like Isham did. OK. They're
parents and that's what parents do. But I'm not a kid any more and I
can take care of myself. SO FORGET THIS INVISIBLE FENCE THING !!! I don't like it, I don't want it. And I'll never go outside again if they persist (a grownup word). They've already seen how I react so let's forget it ever happened.

Anyhow, I want to remind you that you don't need to schlep out on a
cold night to get something to eat. Mom makes a terrific homemade
pizza for guests, plus a pasta dinner with a choice of sauce,
rolls, salad and home made maple ice cream for desert. Or, if
you're like me you can pass pizza/pasta, do not collect calories, and go directly to ice cream.

A TIME FOR CHANGE

Hi,
After four and a half years of smiles, devoted loyalty and complete reliability, our manager Brenda has decided to take on another
challenge. Her family has acquired a general store in Jeffersonville on condition that Brenda be their manager. They could not have made a better choice, though their gain is certainly our loss.

We can not say enough (and our guest comment books confirm this) about how much we appreciate all she has done over these years. Not only has
she survived every challenge we threw in her direction, she created
many tasks of her own, finding a way to complete those successfully
as well.

As a final task she has trained her own successor, Cheri
Audet who began full time this week. Cheri's daughter Jeanine worked
here for several years during high school so we knew the kind of work
ethic to expect. We realize that Cheri has large footsteps to follow
and look forward to many years together. We know that those of you
who have met Brenda will join us in offering many thanks and best
wishes for her new venture.

CREME BRULE FRENCH TOAST

1 stick (1 1/4 cup) unsalted butter
1 cup packed brown sugar (dark)
2 tablespoons maple syrup
1 loaf 8-9 " diameter round style bread
5 large eggs
1 1/2 cups half and half
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 tablespoon Grand Marnier Liquor
1/4 teaspoon salt

1.	Melt butter in a small saucepan over medium heat. Mix in brown sugar and corn syrup, stirring until sugar is dissolved. Pour into a 9x13 inch baking dish.
2.	Remove crusts from bread, and arrange in the baking dish in a single layer. In a small bowl, whisk together eggs, half and half, vanilla extract, orange brandy, and salt. Pour over the bread. Cover, and chill at least 8 hours, or overnight.
3.	Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Remove the dish from the refrigerator, and bring to room temperature.
4.	Bake uncovered 35 to 40 minutes in the preheated oven, until puffed and lightly browned
