| Hi,
WIRELESS
IN THE COUNTRY
For those of us (notice I didn't say for those of YOU)
who are joined at the hip to our computer, we are
happy to announce that we have now added wireless internet
capability, to our satellite system. While not
quite as fast as DSL, it is far better than dial up,
which is the only other option out here in the country.
So if you
can't leave home without it, bring it along and do your
thing in our comfortable sun-room. Who knows !
On a good day, it might even work at the pool.

Isham
& Gizmo's Corner
|
 |
|

I
type these words with a heavy heart. Isham is gone. Not
in heaven, just gone. A few weeks ago he left and was
found a few days later in Bakersfield, almost 20
miles from here. We had not been reunited more than five
hours before he left again, with no word now in almost
three weeks, even though alerts and all points bulletins
have been posted all over Northern Vermont.
Mom
and Dad think that he decided that he simply wanted to
move on. For his first two years here he was clearly top
dog, getting (for those of you who know him) more
than his share of attention. Since my arrival more than
18 months ago, that spotlight has been shared, as has
the duties of greeting guests, joining them on walks,
playing with guests dogs and generally being cute. Mom
and Dad think his ego may have been bruised and (to the
extent that us dogs can reason) therefore the grass
might be greener etc etc.
We
all miss him terribly but hope that wherever he has
landed he is happy. Mom found a prayer to help all of us
in this position.
Love,
Gizmo

Schweitzer's Prayer for the Animals
Hear our
humble prayer, O God, for our friends the animals,
especially for the animals who are suffering; for any
that are hunted or lost, or deserted or frightened or
hungry; for all that must be put to death. We entreat
for them all thy mercy and pity and for those who deal
with them we ask a heart of compassion and gentle hands
and kindly words,. Make us, ourselves, to be true
friends to animals and to share the blessings of the
merciful.

|
|
|
Though
summer is only now beginning, many have already
made foliage reservations here and all around
Vermont. We thought it might be fun for our
newsletter subscribers to be part of a little photo
contest so we have put one together.
Vermont provides almost unlimited opportunities for
wonderful foliage photography. You can see some
examples on the page we created last fall.
Just click the link BELOW to take a look. Our contest,
limited only to our newsletter readers, will offer
two prizes. The winner will receive a certificate
for three nights at the inn, while the second place
winner will receive a two night certificate. We ask you
to submit one photo taken between September 15,
2005 and October 15, 2005.
Simply identify the location (including the town) and we
will post that and all other photos submitted to a
special web site for all to view. At the end of October
when we send our the newsletter, we will ask our
readers to vote on their three favorites and tabulate on a
3,2 1 basis, announcing the winner the following month.
You do not need to have stayed here at all, simply be a
part of our newsletter list and you are eligible.
Have fun.
