| Hi,
Morning frost, vacant trees, an active woodstove, and
the end of the World Series (a better one could not be
imagined) all point to summer's end. Our summer and fall
were the busiest yet. We ( and the dogs) made many new
friends. Please look at the link to the wonderful
foliage photos Jacquie took during October.
With fall here and winter close we remind you that
Smuggler's Notch ski area is just 30 minutes away. It is
rated the best family ski area in the East. In addition
we have miles of cross country skiing on our property
and expect to groom our trails this season, making it
much easier for many of you.
Finally, a reminder of our current special. A "threefer".
Stay three nights (or more) and the last night is on us.
Plus on that last night we'll provide one of Jacquie's
outstanding pizzas PLUS a new fabulous home made desert.
See you soon.

| ISHAM
GIVES THANKS! |
 |
Hi again everyone:
The colors were great, the temperatures fine,
loads of people plus doggies poo.
Now it is cooler, a nip in the air.
Footballs are flying, the leaves are too.
This newsletter says it's November - oh dear,
there's many to thank as that day draws near.
So Mary and Echo, you know we're not fancy.
For proof you need only to ask Jonathan / Nancy.
But thank you I do, along with Tammy,
and I can't forget Carolyn in Miami.
Karin and Cloe I do think of you, plus Jim and
Prince Dumont, the Baxters too.
Jim and Deb, it sure was a pleasure
to see you with Mom and Dad together.
Thank you Pat Daniels, and Lynda Bessette
(I'm sorry I'm not through with this list quite
yet).
Cause I need to add Jeanine and Audettes,
plus Sandy, Cathy and Ives, you bet.
The Milligans, Pitts, we all had a ball,
we'll see you same weekend again next fall.
Oh Tony and Nina, in just a few weeks,
we'll see Sue and Leeba and kiss a few cheeks.
Be sure that that my naming and thanking a few,
does not mean ungratefulness' to the rest of
you. *
We're glad that you come, we're glad that you
stay,
We want you to enjoy just every day.
Some of these rhymes are out of the blue,
though my sentiments in all are nothing but
true.
If you can do better, my hat I will doff,
But please just remember, I'm just a dog.
Love Isham
* This year, by far, has been our busiest, and I
know
Mom and Dad are most appreciative

| SNOWSHOEING
IN VERMONT |
 |
nowshoeing
has been a way of life in the
Green Mountains for well over a
century, long before the sport
became fashionable again. We've
got countless ways to make
tracks into the snowy
wilderness, whether it's a
nature trek, a climb or a winter
workout you're looking for.
|
 |
 |
Best
of all, when you strap on
showshoes in Vermont, you step
into a spectacular landscape
that seems to have been made
just for the sport, all while
enjoying one of the healthiest
forms of winter exercise. |
|
 |
For starters, Vermont has dozens of
king-of-the- mountain climbs: easy,
accessible peaks offering stunning
winter vistas, and a bunch of rugged
4,000-footers where experienced
snowshoers can find the remote solitude
and breathtaking beauty of a winter
mountaintop. If you want to look for
wildlife or explore the tranquility of
our snowy forests and fields, we've got
untold miles of old logging roads and
forest paths, frozen lakes and bogs,
nature trails and recreation paths. No
matter where you are in Vermont, a great
trek is just a few steps away.
If
you've never tried snowshoeing but want
to get started, that's easy too. We have
complimentary snowshoes available for
guests at the Inn and over 400 acres to
explore.
So
come try snowshoeing in its ideal state.
It's invigorating exercise, a perfect
activity for families and outdoor
enthusiasts of all ages, and an
inexpensive and easy sport - just find
snow, strap snowshoes on and go. And
when you snowshoe in Vermont, you'll
find a hidden world of surprising beauty
and winter adventure. In other words,
you'll be taking the perfect steps to
enjoy winter.
