Mom, Dad and I look forward to hosting both of you within the near
future. A number of you took your pictures while staying here - BUT NO
ONE INCLUDED ME.
I thought that rather cruel since I was the one always leading you into
the woods and showing the best spots.
Anyhow, everyone thanks you who took a few moments to participate and
enjoy Vermont scenery at the same time.
I got my fall trim a few weeks ago, just before it turned cold of
course. Now I can't wait to get all furry again See ya at Thanksgiving -
and don't forget a treat for me.

THANKSGIVING DINNER SPECIAL
Hi,
Are the kids too far away? Family scattered to the far corners of the
country (or planet)? Suffering from a little empty house syndrome? How
about spending Thanksgiving with us ? Spend three consecutive nights at

Vermont Balloon Rides
Experience the freedom and tranquility of floating
across the sky, with a bird’s eye view of places you may have seen
before, but never as you will see them from above.
Vermont has never looked more beautiful, than from far above the
treetops! Balloon Rides in Vermont are generally flown around Sunrise
or Sunset, when air conditions are traditionally clear, calm, cool and
stable. Following a detailed flight briefing, you will then be invited
to assist the pilot and crew to prepare the balloon for flight.
Once aboard the wicker basket, your magical flight begins. The launch
is so gentle you will barely realize you have left the ground. The
peace and gentleness of ballooning will surprise you, and the Vermont
flight views are unsurpassable. As you drift along with the breeze,
the scenery slowly changes until, after approximately an hour in the
air, it is time to land.
We recently experienced our first Hot Air Balloon ride with Above
Reality Balloons and many of the photos taken while in the air can be
viewed on our Fall Foliage Photos 2005 below. The successful
completion of the flight is celebrated with a special toast.

OATMEAL COOKIE PANCAKES
1 cup old fashioned oats
1 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 cup brown sugar
2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp baking soda
1 tsp ground cinnamon
1/4 cup chopped walnuts
3/4 cup sour cream
3/4 cup whole milk
2 large eggs
1 tsp vanilla extract
2 bananas, mashed
3/4 cup raisins
1/4 cup butter, melted
Here’s a great tip: if you cannot find really ripe bananas, just
nuke them in the microwave for about 15 seconds and they will become
super soft for mashing.
Mix dry ingredients, the first 7, in a bowl. In a another bowl, mix
the wet ingredients, the next 4. Whisk the wet ingredients into the
dry until just combined, then fold in the mashed up bananas and the
raisins. Stir in the melted butter
Heat a griddle over medium heat and brush with additional melted
butter. Cook pancakes, each about 1/3 cup, until bubbles form on the
top, then turn. Cakes will cook in about 2 minutes on each side. Keep
pancakes tented with foil as they come off the griddle to keep them
hot. Serve with drizzled honey or maple syrup over the top.
