CARE PROVIDERS LIST

Betsy, 65 years old and a life-long fibromyalgic, was finally diagnosed with FMS in 1985 after a life-long quest for a reasonable explanation for her medical problems.  Because there was no FMS help or knowledge in the metropolitan NY area where she lived, in 1991 Betsy sought help nationally.  She has been a national advocate ever since and, with a specially designed database, has collected information from other patients on FMS literate doctors and other professionals around the world in order to help save fibromyalgics the misery of continuing to go to doctors who don't know and don't want to know FMS.

Since patients' and doctors' views of doctors are vastly different, Betsy restricts her very personalized service solely to finding PATIENT RECOMMENDED FMS doctors.  She has a file for every professional in her database which often includes helpful comments about that professional's practice.  There are around 1,000 professionals in her database.

Along with doctors' names, Betsy sends a list of treatment modalities, suggestions for activities of daily living, and two pieces written by highly respected and well-known doctors that describe the markers (physical proof) of FM for you to take to your doctors and doubting family and friends.

For information on FMS literate doctors and other professionals, email Betsy at kindness@fibrobetsy.com.  With your brief request, give her your exact location, and include the name of the nearest larger city or town if yours is tiny. She does not deal with CMP or CFIDS at all, although they share symptoms.  Just FMS.

She also requests additions to her list, without which she wouldn't have a patient recommended service at all.  She needs the professional's full name and degree, city/town, state and phone number.  Comments are nice, and they're added to Betsy's database, if you have time to include them.
