Portable Radio
DVR utilizes several models of Motorola portable radios. These 5 watt radios are carried by each member and allows the members to be around the coverage area and have the ability to speak to each other or to dispatch.
Mobile Radios
Each ambulance has a Kenwood TK-790/890 100 watt dual-frequency (UHF and VHF) mobile radio for communications. Each frequency can be filled with up to 160 channels. This allows us to not only talk to our own unit and units in our Mutual Aid system, but also allows us to talk to Police Units, Mt. Snow Ski Area ski patrol personnel and others users that we choose. Each radio has 2 heads; One located in the front that the driver operates, and one located in the patient module so the EMT may give patient reports to the receiving hospital.
