HOW TO
FIND A
"TMJ
SPECIALIST"
You should be seen by a TMJ specialist. A "TMJ Specialist" is a
dentist who ONLY treats TM Joint disorders non-surgically - no fillings, no
dentures, no general dentistry at all - just TMJ. You may be told that there
is no such thing as a TMJ specialist. Of course there are. I am one, and
there are hundreds just like me. Here are three ways to find a qualified TMJ
specialist. One of them should work.
1. Contact the dental school nearest to you. Ask for a list of their TM
Joint teaching faculty. Contact one, and make an appointment.
2. Contact the Executive Secretary of your State's Dental Society. People in
this position generally know who's doing what where,
3. Go to the American Academy of Orofacial Pain's Web Site at <http://www.aaop.org>
and click on Members. You will
find members in your State, Province, or Country. All members of this
organization are by invitation only, and all are highly qualified.
