Early classic examples include moving a background object in front of type, and putting an image inside of another image. In both cases, Scott Kelby shows you how to create the effect and then goes beyond that to show how to create the ad or poster using the effect.

In another example, adding a different reflection to sun glasses, Scott Kelby shows how to insert the reflection, how to put a shadow around it so it does not look just pasted on. Then he goes on to show you how to reduce the intensity of the reflection, and how to finish by adding text.

I would not say that I need to know these effects, but if I did I would want Classic Photoshop Effects. If you want to use any of the many classic effects in this book in your creations, this book will show you how to do it.
