starts six lessons on making presentations in Keynote followed by five lessons on publishing with pages. Each lesson takes you through selecting a template for a planned project, and shows you step by step how to modify and add to the template to get the final project you or your customer wanted. The results are a truly professional products.
The accompanying DVD contains all the material you will need to complete the lessons including what the project results are at appropriate stages in the project and the final result so you can compare it with your work.
iWork '06 with iLife '06
includes integration with iLife, and working with images, audio and videos. It also includes working in Photoshop for a project. There is a bonus lesson on organizing and refining your photos in the Appendix. Most of this lesson is actually on the accompanying DVD.
This is the only Apple-certified book on iWork '06 and part of The Apple Training Series. It is very comprehensive including business presentations, professional marketing packages, animations, Podcasting, and putting your project on the Web or DVD.
Needless to say, this book is very well done, and if you follow the steps you will have great results.
My purpose in reading about iWork is to learn Pages. I wish iWork 06' had been written for Pages and not started with Keynote for those of us who are not now planning to make any Keynote presentations, and it is not a replacement for The Pages User Guide or another manual. This is not the tool I need to really learn Pages for the way my brain works.
But, I recommendiWork '06 with iLife '06because the projects are excellent examples of the fine works that can be created with Keynote and Pages and how they were done.
