Dynamic Learning Photoshop CS3 is a very readable book. If the instructions for using Photoshop tools and techniques were any more clear they would have to be transparent. It is not the best way to study, but I actually read several chapters in one day.

The videos are very high quality. You are instructed to load them on your hard drive for easy access.

The organization of Dynamic Learning Photoshop CS3 is unique. The first chapter is a brief look at What's New in Adobe Photoshop CS3.

to download a this first chapter and two sample video tutorials.

The second chapter, Lesson 2: Exploring Adobe Photoshop CS3, provides more instruction on such new CS3 subjects as creating a panorama, masking a smart filter, and using the Quick Selection Tool.

The eleven chapters that follow cover the Photoshop workspace, Adobe Bridge, the basics of Photoshop CS3, creating a good image, making the best selections, painting and retouching, two chapters on layers one one on smart objects, filters, and images for Web and video.

This book would make a fine reference about Photoshop CS3. I quickly found the instructions in Dynamic Learning Photoshop CS3 to select a t-shirt in a Stars an Stripes parade using the Quick Selection Tool and then to color it using a blending mode to retain its shadows and shape.

Since the authors are professionals who train professionals, their instructions on color settings for printing are based upon CMYK colors rather than the RGB which most of us use for ink jet printing. Their reference to Web Safe colors is rapidly becoming obsolete. But these are minor gripes which are far over-weighed by some of the clearest written instructions that I have seen, with illustrations, on using Photoshop CS3 tools.
