Workshop purpose and objectives:
- By the end of this workshop, participants will be able to:
- Impress friends and co-workers with their command of Internet acronyms, such as
URL and FAQ;
- Use expressions such as "web browser" and "e-mail" without fear of embarassment;
- Rev up their Web search engines with the best of them;
- Send effective e-mail messages without having to resort to smilies ;-)
- Describe the hardware and software needed to connect to the Internet;
- Choose an Internet Service Provider (ISP) and interpret the odd language they use;
- Discuss some of the ways in which Internet resources can assist a non-profit organization in fundraising, management, and client services.
