also draws Bourdon (toe lever)
Withdraws the same leaves Bourdon (toe lever)
Right hand balanced swell pedal
Mixture 2 Fach or Sesquialtera:
The straight, flat pedalboard is of unusual design. The short (ca. 12") naturals are
hinged at the toe of the pedal with a pantograph mechanism (as well as the usual hinge
at the heel) so that the pedal surfaces remain horizontal as the pedals are depressed .
This was the second organ to be awarded a Historic Organ citation by the Organ Historical
Society.
The handsome porcelain stop knobs are of larger than normal size, in order to accomodate
the unusual dual nomenclature. The toe levers are marked by inset porcelain knobs above
Manual II.
A photograph of this organ appears in Barbara Owen: The Organ in New England (1979),
pl. XIV-23.
E. Power Biggs recorded music of Charles Ives on this organ.
