The Parent-Teacher organization of Putney Central School consists of parents and staff members who volunteer their time to help provide curriculum enrichment opportunities for PCS students.

Current activites of the PTO include:

• International Studies Program. Since 1999 the PTO has sponsored all-school investigations of the arts, religions, cultures, language and customs of Asia as a whole, of Africa as a whole, Central America as a whole, and of Japan, Thailand, and China.
• The Environment Learning for the Future (E.L.F.) Program has been a mainstay at PCS for grades K-6 since 1991. This is an environmental education and natural science program designed by the Vermont Institute for Natural Sciences (VINS). Each month, a VINS instructor comes to the school and teaches a group of volunteer parents and community members a series of hands-on activities which revolve around a yearly theme. (This year's theme is Cycles in Nature). The volunteers then bring these activities into the classrooms on a weekly basis. If you'd like to join this group, call the phone number below.
• Organizing the yearly Holiday Bazaar at the school. This event provides an opportunity for each student to buy a gift of their own choosing for each member of their immediate and extended family. Many of the gifts are donated by parents and friends of PCS, and others are purchased for the event by the Bazaar Committee. The gifts are priced from 25¢ to $2.50. The Bazaar is designed as both a service and as a fun event for the children, and not primarily as a fund raiser.
• Organizing the PTO's Annual Winter Dinner and Concert extravaganza at the school. This fund raiser features a candle-lit Pasta Dinner along with an after dinner concert.
