Nanci described this as her "concept" album. The songs focus on the ups
and downs of relationships, and her style moves towards a Nashville-pop
sound. Still, most of the album retains the country-folk flavor, and
Nanci's songs are among her best, including "I Wish it Would Rain," "So
Long Ago," "Outbound Plane," and the beautiful "Gulf Coast Highway." The
title tune is an Irish-style ballad co-written with James Hooker, Nanci's
longtime keyboardist.
