Here Nanci moves to MCA's pop division and hires Glyn Johns to produce
this collection of mostly pop-style tunes. The familiar country-folk
sound is nearly absent, and there are synths galore. But the songs are
enjoyable, mostly about "stormy" relationships. If you don't care for
the production style, keep listening anyway and you'll find the pleasures
buried in tunes like "I Don't Wanna Talk About Love," which reveals a
meaningful lyric and an affecting melody sung with a smooooth delivery.
"Listen to the Radio" is a great declaration of freedom, and Nanci says
"It's a Hard Life Wherever You Go" is her most important song.
