Peter Gould |
Peter Gould and Stephen Stearns met in 1976 at the Brattleboro dump. They took to the stage as a duo in 1980 to standing room only houses and extended runs. Together, they have created 11 shows and plays spanning 18 years. Their "G&S in a Cheap Motel" was commissioned by Lincoln Center Institute and toured for L.C. for one year. Their renowned play, "A Peasant of El Salvador", has toured worldwide since 1981. "Peasant" won the 1985 "Denver Global Justice and Peace Award" and the 1996 Queens College "Chaney, Goodman, Schwerner Humanitarian Award" for "making the World a better place to be The Gould and Stearns' collaboration has yielded over 3,500 performances, including hundreds at schools nation wide. They have led workshops and residencies on a wide range of themes, including mime, clowning, Shakespeare, creative writing, social justice, and self esteem. Their feature-length video, "Still Clowning After All These Years," made its debut in the fall of 1997. . |
