Please call 911 for emergencies

For Non-Emergencies - Dispatch - 254-6962

Vernon Police Office - 257-2638

In an Effort to improve Police services, the Vernon Police Department would like to make the following recommendations when calling for Police assistance:

  1. If you have any emergency, call 9-1-1 and stay on the line until a dispatcher tells you to hang up.  If you accidentally dial 9-1-1 and then advise that you do not need police services, an officer will still be dispatched to your location.  Our priority is always to ensure the safety and well-being of our residents.
  2. If it is not an emergency, but you need to speak with an officer, use the 254-6962 number and an officer will be dispatched.  In some cases, emergencies do occur and a timely response may not be possible.  However, if you have not received a response within one (1) hour, please call back and confirm that an officer has been notified.

The Vernon Police Department provides 24-hour coverage including after hour on call service.  It is the goal of this Department to provide the best possible coverage with timely responses to the citizens of our town.

Thank you,

Chief Kevin D. Turnley
