Sample Ballots are on the back of this page.  You will notice that there are 4 Ballots this year.  You will only be voting on ONE of the ballots but will receive all 4.  If you wish to vote for someone on a different ballot you simply write that person’s name in on the ballot you are voting on.
The purpose of this election is to determine who will be running for statewide offices this November and, yes, your vote will count.

Marriage Licenses
Who? A man and a woman who are each at least 18 years old can marry in Vermont. If you are under 18, but at least 16, you may marry with the consent of a parent or guardian.Vermont does not allow marriage between most close relatives.
What? You must have a marriage license to marry, but you do not need blood tests and there is no waiting period. You must know basic information about yoruselves and your parents' names (mother's maiden name) and places of birth. You should also supply divorce documents, if any. The Vernon Town Clerk's office requires that both parties be present to sign the license.
Where? If both bride and groom are Vermont residents, the Town Clerk's office can issue a license in either town of residence. If just one of you resides in a Vermont town, you must buy the license in that town. If neither of you is a Vermont resident, you may get a license from any town clerk in the state. Licenses cannot be issued through the mail.
When? The license is valid for 60 days from its issue date. An authorized person must perform a wedding ceremony during that time.
How much? A marriage license costs $23, and a certified copy from the town clerk costs $10.
